The late playwright August Wilson spent his childhood at 1727 Bedford Avenue (Rear) in Pittsburgh's Hill District. P+A developed a historic structure report and feasibility study for the house and three adjacent properties, which documents the historic significance of the house and proposes a renewed use as a multidisciplinary, urban artists colony. The report and study provide comprehensive measured drawings, architectural program options, a LEED assessment, budgets and a timeline for rehabilitation.

Client: Funded by the Pittsburgh Foundation and managed by the August Wilson Center for African American Culture for relatives of August Wilson (2008)
